Welcome to DigiFocus. Your privacy is not just a feature—it is our core philosophy. We have engineered DigiFocus to ensure that your digital habits remain your own, protected by strict on-device processing and zero-telemetry protocols.

1. The "Local First" Promise

Unlike most digital wellbeing apps, DigiFocus does not use a cloud backend. All sensitive data generated by your usage is stored locally in encrypted storage on your Android device.

• No Cloud Sync: We do not upload, sync, or transmit your data to external servers.
• Zero Tracking: DigiFocus contains NO third-party trackers, analytics (like Firebase or Mixpanel), or advertising SDKs.
• Data Sovereignty: Your usage history, habits, and task logs are completely isolated from us and any third parties.

2. Feature-Specific Data Usage

To provide advanced insights, DigiFocus processes the following data exclusively on your device:

• Focus Shield & Strength: We analyze your addictive app usage in real-time to calculate your "Focus Strength" percentage. This calculation happens locally.
• Attention Heatmap: Timestamps of your phone unlocks and usage are mapped to visualize your "Focus Peaks." This pattern analysis is stored only on your device.
• Habit Tracker & Brain Dumps: Any streaks, goals, or Captured thoughts (Brain Dumps) are stored in your local application database.

3. Required Android Permissions

To function as a system launcher and digital guardian, we require the following permissions. All data accessed is processed in-memory and never leaves the device:

• Usage Stats (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Needed to track screen time and enforce app limits.
• Accessibility Service: (Optional) Used for advanced "Hard Blocking" of apps to prevent you from bypassing your own focus limits.
• Query All Packages: Required to populate your minimalist app drawer and categorize your apps.
• System Alert Window: Required to display the "Limit Exceeded" overlay across distracting apps.

4. Children’s Privacy

DigiFocus is safe for all ages. Because we do not collect personal information, email addresses, or location data, we are fully compliant with children’s privacy standards. All activity remains on the local hardware.
